Custom Cakes

How do I order?
Order enquiries can be made through www.sweetascakesnz.com using our enquiry form. Please be sure to include as much information on the form as possible such as the date your order is needed and type of cake, flavours and fillings of the cake you require. Please feel free to include images of your inspiration but please be advised that it is not be possible to replicate the design of another cake artist completely.

Do you make fondant covered cakes?
No. Sorry we only cover our cakes with either American Style Buttercream or Swiss Meringue buttercream. We can however make small fondant elements to decorate your cake with.

Do you deliver cakes?
At present we do not offer cake deliveries. All custom cake orders are to be collected from Sweet As Cakes NZ premises by the customer.

Do you offer allergy free cakes?
Sorry Sweet As Cakes NZ do not make allergen free cakes as our kitchen is not allergen free and can not guarantee there will be no risk of cross contamination.

How far in advance should I order a cake?
For custom celebration cakes and treats, At least 2 weeks notice is needed before taking on any order. Depending on availability Sweet As Cakes NZ will consider taking bookings with 3-4 days notice but this is not guaranteed. If for a larger occasion such as a wedding we recommend 3-6 months in advance.

Can I make changes to my order?
Any changes to your order must be made in writing to Sweet As Cakes NZ at least a week in advance of the collection date and will incur a $20 charge per change. Any changes requested within 48 hours of the collection date can not be accommodated.

I want to cancel my order. Can I get a full refund?
If a booking is cancelled before 14 days of the collection date you will be charged a 25% non-refundable charge. Any orders cancelled within 14 days of collection will be charged a 50% non-refundable charge. This is to cover any labour and ingredients cost that has gone in to making elements of your order. No refunds will be given for bookings cancelled within 3 days of collection. If cancellation is due to medical or emergency reason then Sweet As Cakes NZ is happy to accommodate a change of date for the collection to a more suitable time frame.

When can I collect my order?
Collection times are Monday - Tuesday between 10am to 12pm and Saturday between 9am and 1pm. Please contact us if you require a collection date on another day to be sure we can accommodate. Address for collection is confirmed upon confirmation of the order.

How do I pay for my order?
Payments are only accepted through online bank transfer. We do not accept cash payments for custom cake orders.

Can I have alcohol bottles for Decorations?
By law, Sweet As Cakes NZ can not purchase ANY alcohol as decorations for a cake as we do not hold a liquor license. You can provide alcohol for decoration that you have purchased yourself to be added to the cake. Written confirmation will be requested to confirm this.

Refund policy
Due to the custom and handmade nature of these products we do not offer a return policy.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
